Stratford sub Castle

The community web site for
Stratford sub Castle
Salisbury, Wiltshire

Welcome to our village

We hope you will find this web site interesting and informative. It will allow you to find out many things about our delightful village. The site is "work in progress", some of the planned pages are still to be provided and most of the existing pages will be enhanced as further work is undertaken by the team researching the data.
The site is a resource for all those living in and around Stratford-sub-Castle, Wiltshire. It is a non-profit site maintained on an entirely voluntary basis by residents of the village.

Today the parish of Stratford sub Castle is a small suburb just a mile or so north of modern Salisbury. It has been occupied since the Stone Age and includes Old Sarum (an Iron Age fort and the site of Norman Salisbury), Sorviodunum (Roman Salisbury) and Saerobyrg (Saxon Salisbury).

In addition to information of a contemporary nature (Botany, Environment, Photos, etc) we have tried to capture the essential elements of our parish's rich history in this web site.
