Old Sarum Farm

A livestock farm that has recently diversified from being solely pigs, into pigs, cows and sheep. The Farm Shop business was developing very strongly until the hammer-blow of the Foot-and-Mouth outbreak in 2001. Even farms that remained free of disease were hit hard by the government restriction on movement of animals. Recently the Farm Shop has being re-established as an outlet for freezer packs (half a pig, ready cut into joints etc). Increasingly people want compassion in farming, and local, traceable produce, and this is an excellent source of meat - you can see the animals have good, open living conditions. You can almost believe they are happy animals. Even more importantly, it tastes wonderful.
