Despite being only a mile from
Salisbury city centre Stratford-sub-Castle has maintained its own comunity
spirit. As you will see from the map, when you click on the Parish Boundary
checkbox, the village itself, where most people live is right in the south
of the parish. We have a total population of about 350. There are a number of organisations centred in the village. The church plays a significant part and the Friends of St Lawrence have recently been formed to assist with the maintenance of the fabric of this historic building. There is also an active bell-ringing team. The Stratford Guild has been active for 45 years. It is secular and open to all. It meets once a month to hear invited speakers who talk on a wide range of subjects. There is also a thriving Gardening Society. |
