Our next café on Sunday 1 September will be the last of this season, so please come along and join us once again between 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm.
For those who have not yet been, please make a note in your diaries to come along and see what you have been missing. You will be made most welcome. Our fame has spread and we get visitors from neighbouring villages and towns, as well as people on holiday, so we must be doing something right!
As usual, we will also have our pre-loved books and kitchen/garden produce tables, which will be packed with bargain buys. (Cash Payments only please.)
We do not require any more books this season, however, we would appreciate your donations of kitchen/garden produce to boost our supplies. Please liaise with Judy Villiers (Tel 01722 500173) or bring items along at the start of the café.
The proceeds from our September café will go to our Community Defibrillator Funds. The defibrillator was installed in 2018 at the Reading Room, having been funded from the proceeds of our cafés, plus some generous donations. This covered the cost of installation and a 10 year maintenance contract, however, training courses on how to use the defibrillator are not included and have to be funded separately. Our funds are depleted, therefore, we need a top up to enable future training courses to take place. The weekly checks to ensure the defibrillator remains fully operational are carried out by a group of community volunteers.
We all look forward to seeing you at our end of season café, but rest assured, we will be back on Saturday 7 December with our Christmas Lunchtime Special Café. Look out for details nearer the time.
