Several Stratford residents have contacted Southern Gas Networks in the past few days to express their concern at the mud and water that has been deposited by SGN along Stratford Road. Steve Mayall took these photos of the debris on the road and pavements near St Lawrence Close.

A resident of St Lawrence Close has told the website:

"I’ve been in communication with SGN and one of their managers has just (5 December) phoned me and said that due to rising water levels they are shortly closing the works (I assume he means in Stratford more widely) and resuming them in March. He said they will spend the next couple of weeks putting everything right."

SGN has been working in Stratford sub Castle since August, replacing gas mains
